• The Captain & Tennille got married; Sonny and Cher divorced
• We watched Happy Days and Little House on the Prairie
• The Oakland A's won the World Series over the Los Angeles Dodgers

• Richard Petty won the Daytona 500 and the NASCAR Championship
• Hank Aaron hit home run #715 breaking Babe Ruth's career home run record
