Theatre
Arts I is an introduction to theatre class which teaches basic communication
and acting techniques. The course requires participating in classroom activities
and required attendance at school productions. This is a prerequisite for
Advanced Acting. A fee is required.
Theatre Arts (Advanced)
Advanced
Theatre Arts is a performance class. In Advanced Theatre Arts, the student
actor will continue to hone his/her interpretive skills while studying
dramatic literature and its performance and production styles and techniques.
Emphasis is placed on selected period styles and theatrical modes not dealt
with in Theatre Arts I. Students may also have an opportunity to develop
directing skills. Students are required to participate in classroom
activities, school productions, speech and drama competitions, and attend
outside live productions. Some after school rehearsal are required. Signature
of teacher and fee are required.
Technical Theatre
This class is responsible for the care and upkeep of the theater and is
designed to teach the technical aspects of producing and staging a play.
Students are required to participate in classroom activities and school
productions. Students are also required to attend all school productions.
A technical theatre fee is required.
