The
guidance offices are open to you for discussion of your needs from 7:55
a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Students and parents are welcome and will
find information about careers, college, business, trades, personal
choices, and tests. The counselors at Minor High School are
assigned responsibilities according to grade level. The
responsibilities include scheduling, record keeping, and other activities
that are appropriate to the grade level. Students are asked to make
schedules and grade-related activities with the assigned grade level
counselor. Parents who wish to meet with a counselor should make an
appointment with the guidance secretary.
Students should choose the
elective subjects in respect to their relationship to post-school plans.
Students are encouraged to consider the subjects that they would like to
pursue based upon future plans instead of diploma type.
Students and parents are
responsible for maintaining an accurate record of the number of credits
earned. Although a concentrated effort is made to ensure that
every student takes subjects required in the proper order, the ultimate
responsibility rests with the student and parents.
Any time a parent would like to
visit the school to talk with teachers, the parent should contact the
main office to make an appointment during the teacher’s preparation
period.
A complete transcript will be
sent to any college, business, or place of the student’s choice upon
request. Students should contact the guidance secretary for
transcripts.
Counselors are asked to provide
recommendations and to complete forms throughout the school year.
Please give counselors sufficient time prior to the deadline to honor
these requests.
