Take the opportunity to learn a new culture along with a new language. Learning a new language opens the door to an entire world of possibilities including friendships and job preparedness.

Minor currently offers French I, II, and III, and Spanish I, II, and III. Soon there will be a conversational-based Spanish class that prepares students to have in-depth conversations in Spanish.

Spanish classes teach students to listen, speak, read, and write in Spanish.  Students practice oral and written skills and have numerous assignments to reinforce these skills. Vocabulary, grammar, and cultural knowledge are emphasized.

French classes introduce the civilization, culture, and language of the French. Oral proficiency is encouraged by the use of conversational French. There are group and paired activities to improve oral skills in both language classes. Tests are an important part of the courses and help the students to speak and write in the learned language.
